Stable Symbols in Italic
Display stable symbols in italics to make your code easy to read. When enabled, symbols that rarely change, e.g. those from MFC and third-party libraries, are easily distinguished from those defined in your projects. Know when you reference a method from a base class, or an overriding variant.
Stable Symbols
Stable symbols include those defined in imported objects, the System namespace and in headers found using
Stable include files in the
C/C++ Directories node. For most installations, the default values are sufficient.
Miscellaneous
Enable italics in the
options dialog.
Some fonts display italics better than others. If your italicized symbols are clipped, try a different font. Courier New, Lucida Console and Bitstream Vera Sans Mono work well.
